It was hard not to stare as he wandered the makeshift base. He felt so awkward and out of place. He didn’t know how long all these other men had been fighting this battle together, but it was long enough to make him feel uncomfortable when it came to trying to interact with them.

A couple were friendly with him. Like the medic. He’d only been around a few days, but Ryeowook always found time to check on him and the bullet wound he had earned himself. The pain had dulled a little from the burning pain to a more numb pain that was just sort of always there, but he still couldn’t help but feel a little excited. It was his first real battle wound and it made him feel like he was actually a part of this whole thing now.

He’d had the most minor wound the day he’d first met everyone, but he hadn’t been seen to last. He’d questioned it, asked Ryeowook why both Kangin and Siwon refused to be seen to until everyone else had been taken care of. He never got an answer, just a needle through his skin and a bandaged wrapped around his arm before he was sent on his way. He’d almost bumped into Siwon on the way out, stopping short of colliding into the bare chest. He fond himself staring at it for a moment, eyes tracing over the scars that littered the man’s skin.

He didn’t know how long he had been staring, and he hadn’t even realized that he was until a large hand clapped down on his shoulder.

“Come on, kiddo. I know ya can’t get enough but if you stare too much, then there won’t be any eye candy for Doc.”

Kyuhyun stared up at Kangin in wide-eyed shock. “I-I—Th-That’s not—B-But—I’m—”

Kangin just laughed and moved the hand from his shoulder to wrap around Kyuhyun’s shoulder. “Don’t worry about it, kiddo.” He nodded at Siwon, who was grinning at their newest member. “I don’t swing that way or anything but hell, even I don’t mind checking this guy out every now and then.”

“Yes. Completely straight, Kangin. Now, if you aren’t waiting for me to dig some metal out of you, then out of the infirmary.” Ryeowook folded his arms over chest and gave them all an expectant look. “Well?”

“Alright, alright.” Kangin dropped his arm from around Kyuhyun, the younger man bowing profusely in apology, first to Ryeowook for causing a disturbance, and then to Siwon for his earlier staring before quickly excusing himself.

“Cute kid,” Siwon chuckled, staring down the hall after Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun

Why are you so awkward when I write you?

Kangin has noticed something’s wrong with Siwon, but Siwon is reluctant to open up.

“Siwon. What happened?”

The man gave no sign that he had heard Kangin. He simply turned the page of the book he was reading and leaned forward to pick up his cup of coffee from the table, but Kangin could see that it had long gone cold.

With a small sigh, Kangin moved from the doorway and further into the small living room. He sat down on the couch across the table from the one Siwon had made himself comfortable on and looked at he other man expectantly. In the long silence that followed, the leader didn’t budge at all while the ex-soldier occasionally glanced at Kangin over the top of his page until he finally gave in.

“What makes you think something’s happened?” he asked, placing the slip of paper he was using as a bookmark between the pages and closing the book slowly.

Glad he was finally getting him to at least talk, Kangin relaxed a little. “The fact that you haven’t been the Wonju camp in three months and you’ve once again turned down the opportunity to go when the patrol goes in a week.” He tried his best to keep his tone even, but he couldn’t help the small hint of worry that snuck in. “Now… Please, Siwon. What happened to Hangeng?” The moment the name left his mouth, Siwon’s gaze dropped to his lap and Kangin knew he was right on target. It didn’t bring him any relief, though, just made him worry more. “Look, if something happened between you two that’s made things awkward or distant for you guys, you should probably sort it out soon. We’re meant to be working with them soon.”

Siwon gave an empty chuckle. “I wish it was something like that.” Slowly, he lifted his gaze again to meet Kangin’s. His expression was cold and serious, one that Kangin very rarely saw, even on the eve of an important encounter or battle. Kangin felt his stomach drop before Siwon even opened his mouth and wished he’d never asked.

“He’s been executed.”

Ohokaythen.

JUST KILL EVERYONE AND ONLY LEAVE LIKE, ONE MEMBER LIVING. THAT’S COOL WITH ME.

Okayfine. I’ll just kill Heechul next in a rain of bullets as he saves Leeteuk. And then Leeteuk will die in a car crash. And then Shindong will die accidentally tripping his own mines. And Kyuhyun will die in a firefight in the sky. And Siwon will get captured and executed. And Ryeowook will shoot himself in the foot and die of gangreen. And Eunhyuk and Donghae will die fighting side by side. And Sungmin will get electrocuted.

And Yesung will return to special forces because all the while he’s just been an inside man for the secret service and the government.

Why did you stop there, omg. But I think this might be my fav. yet. So accurate. XD You’re getting better, D’mi!

I’m still trying to figure out where the fuck SHINee came from. And why Taemin is so fucking adorable when he starts babbling. I’m starting to like writing Kangin though.

I don’t know either, but I’m not complaining. XD Taeminnie was so cute~

Yeah .. BUT YOU HAD TO KILL HIM OFF. D;

They’re probably gonna show up again at some point. » Their base is one of the alliance bases.

I’M SORRY. At least he’ll be here for all the origin’s stories?

Clash of fandoms. Lol.

And I guess I’ll be rereading the origins stories a bit then. T_T

Well, it was originally gonna be Kibum they ran into, but then it would’ve gone way different. I like the cute Taeminnie one. »

» I’m sorry.
